Directions (Q. 1 - 5): In each of the question below, three statements are given followed by conclusions/group of conclusions numbered I and II. You have to assume all the statements to be true even if they seem to be at variance with commonly known facts and then decide which of the given two conclusion logically follows from the information given in the
1) If only conclusion I follows. 2) If only conclusion II follows.
3) If either conclusion I or II follows. 4) If neither conclusion I nor II follows.
5) If both conclusion I and II follow.

1. Statements :- All plants are papers. No paper is a flower. All flowers are fruits.
Conclusion:- I. All plants being fruits is a possibility. II.All fruits being papers is a possibility.

2. Statements :- Some books are schools. Some schools are buses. All buses are students.
Conclusion:- I. Some books are students. II.Some schools are students.

3. Statements :- Some methods are techniques. No concept is a method. All techniques are papers.
Conclusion:- I. Some techniques are not concept. II.Some concepts are not papers.

4. Statements :- Some trees are roses. All fruits are roses. All trees are plastics.
Conclusion:- I. Some plastics are roses. II.Some fruits are roses.

5. Statements :- Some seconds are minutes. No minute is a triangle. No date is a second.
Conclusion:- I. All seconds can never be triangle. II.Some dates are minutes.

Directions (Q. 6 - 10) : Each of the questions below consists of a question and two statements a numbered I and II given below it. You have to decide whether the data given in the statements are sufficient to answer the questions. Read both statements and give answer.
1) If the data in statement I alone are sufficient to answer the question, while the data in statement II alone are not sufficient to answer the question.
2) If the data in statements II alone are sufficient to answer the question, while the data in statement I alone are not sufficient to answer the question.
3) If the data either in statement I alone or statement II alone are sufficient to answer the question.
4) If the data in statement I and II together are not sufficient to answer the question.
5) If the data in both statements I and II together are necessary to answer the question.

6. R is towards which direction of M ?
I) M is to the west of T, which is to the south of R.
II) M is to the south of S, which is to the west of R.

7. How is M related to C ?
I) M is the Brother-in-law of B, who is the daughter-in-law of C, who is husband of D.
II) C is the grandfather of M's daughter's only aunt's son.

8. Among P, Q, R, S and T. Who is youngest?
I) R and T are younger than M.
II) S is older than R but younger than T and Q.

9. What is Sanjay's rank from the top in a class of 50 students?
I) Anil is 6 ranks below Sanjay and is 29th  from the bottom.
II) Pankaj is 4 ranks above Sanjay and is 35th  from the bottom.

10. M, N, O, P and R are sitting around a circle facing the centre. Who is 2nd  to the right of P ?
I) O is to the immediate left of R and 2nd  to the right of P.
II) N is to the immediate right of P and 3rd  to the left of M.

1.1; No paper is a flower (E) + All flowers are fruits (A) = E + A  =  O*—> some  fruits  are  not  papers.  Hence, conclusion II does not  follow. Now, All plants  are papers (A) + No paper is a flower (E) = A + E = E —>No plant is a flower + All flower are fruits (A) = E + A = O* —>Some fruits are not plants. Thus, possibility of I exists.

2.2; Some schools are buses (I) + All buses are students (A) = I + A = I —>Some schools are students. Thus, conclusion II follows. Again, Some books are schools + Some schools are buses = I + I = No conclusion. Therefore I does not follow.

3.1; No  concept  is  a  method  (E)  +  Some  method  are techniques = E + I O*—>Some techniques are not concept.  Hence,  I  follows.  But  we  can’t  proceed further. Hence conclusion II does not follow.

4.5; Some trees are roses  conversion Some roses are trees. Now, Some roses are trees + All trees are plastics = I + A —> I  —> Some  roses  are  plastics.  Hence,  conclusion  I follows. Again, All fruits are roses  implication  Some fruits are roses. Hence, conclusion II follows.

5.1; Some seconds are minutes (I) + No minute is a triangle (E) —> I + E—> O —> Some seconds are not triangle. Hence, I follows. Again No date is a second (E) + Some second are minute = E + I = O*—> Some minutes are not dates. Hence, conclusion II does not follow.
