Directions (Q. 1-6) : In each of the questions below are given three statements followed by two conclusions numbered I and II . You have to take the given statements to be true even if they seem to be at variance with commonly known facts. Read all conclusions and then decide which of the given conclusions logically follows from the given statements, disregarding commonly known facts.

1) if only conclusion I follows
2) if only conclusion II follows
3) if either conclusion I or II follows
4) if neither conclusion I nor II follows
5) if both conclusions I and II follows

(Q. 1 - 2) Statements: Some poor are rich. All rich are doctors. Some intelligent are doctors.

1. Conclusions: I.At least some poor are intelligents. II.All intelligents being rich is a possibility.

2. Conclusions: I.All intelligents being doctors is a possibility. II.Some poor are doctors.

(Q.3 - 4 ) Statements: All fans are bulbs. All wires are holders. Some wires are bulbs.

3. Conclusions: I.At least some fans are wires. II.All holders being fans is a possibility.

4. Conclusions: I.All fans being holdrs is a possibility. II.Some holders are bulbs.

(Q.5 - 6) Statements: No savings accounts is a current accounts. Some fixed deposits are savings accounts. Some current accounts are recurring deposits.

5. Conclusions: I.All savings accounts being current accounts is a posibility.
II.All fixed deposits being current accounts is a possibility.

6. Conclusions: I. All current accounts being fixed deposits is a possibility.
II.All savings accounts being recurring deposits is a possibility.

Directions (Q. 7-8): Read the following information carefully and answer the questions that follow. Among five friends - Raj, Vijay, Shadab, Alok and Vishal each friend is heavy weight. Only one friend has more weight than Shadab. Vishal has more weight than Raj but less than Alok. Alok is not the heaviest. The one who is the second lowest has 71 kg weight. Shadab has 92 kg weight.

7. Which of the following is the most likely weight of Vijay?
1) 81 kg 2) 45 kg 3) 58 kg 4) 90kg 5) None of these

8. Who among the following is most likely to have 87 kg weight?
1) Alok 2) Shadab 3) Vishal 4) can't be determined 5) None of these

(Q.9 - 10): Four of the following five are alike in a certain way and so form a group. Which is the  one that does not belong to that group?

9. 1) DGJM 2) NQTM 3) UXAD 4) KNQT 5) EHKN

10. 1) ONE 2)  FOUR 3) FIVE 4) EIGHT 5) TEN

1.2; From statements II and III
All  rich  are  doctors  (A)  +  conversion  of  Some
intelligents are doctors (I) – > A + I  – > All intelligents
being rich is a possibility. Hence, II follows.
Again, Some poor are rich (I) + All rich are doctors
(A) = I + A = I = Some poor are doctors (I) + conversion
of  Some  intelligent  are  doctors  (I)  =  I  +  I  =  No
conclusion. Thus, I does not follow.

2.5; From statement III we can draw the conclusion, All
intelligent being doctors is a possibility.
Again, Some poor are rich (I) + All rich are doctors
(A) = I + A = I = Some poor are doctors. Hence both
conclusions I & II follow.

3.2; All fans are bulbs (A) + conversion of Some wires are
bulbs (I) = A + I = No conclusion. Thus, conclusion I
does not follow.
But, from first and second statements the possibility
does exist between holder and fan. Thus, conclusion
II exists.

4.5; Some wires are bulbs conversion  – > Some bulbs
are wires (I) + All wires are holders (A) = I + A = I =
Some bulbs are holders. It means Some holders are
bulbs. Thus, conclusion II follows.
Again, There exists a possible relation between holder
and  fan  from  first  and  second  statements.  Thus
conclusion I follows.

5.4; From statement first conclusion I does not follow.
Again, Some fixed deposits are savings accounts (I)
+ No savings accounts is a current account (E) = I + E
= O = Some fixed deposits are not current accounts.
Thus All current account being fixed  deposits is a
possibility. Hence, II does not follow.

6.5; Some fixed deposits are savings accounts (I) + No
savings account is a current account (E) = I + E = O =
Some fixed deposits are not current accounts, it means,
All  current  accounts  being  fixed  deposits  is  a
possibility. Hence, conclusion I follows.
Again, No savings account is a current accounts (E)
+ Some current accounts are recurring deposits (I) = E
+ I = O* = Some recurring deposits are not savings
accounts.  It  means, All  savings  account  being
recurring deposits is a possibility.

7.5; Vijay > Shadab > Alok > Vish > Raj
92kg 71kg
